Ruddington Christmas Market
Ho, ho, ho! This month’s village market will be a major, festive family event – with over 100 indoor and outdoor stalls of gifts, food and drink. There’ll be children’s activities, also two covered pop-up bars and stages of live music.
The Ruddington Christmas Market is on from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 3rd December in our village centre. It’s now organised by Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP).
RVCP says: “In a change to the format from last year, the Christmas market moves away from the village green and on to the High Street and Church Street – with more stalls inside St Peter’s Church, Ruddington Methodist Church Hall, the Framework Knitters’ Museum, and St Peter’s Rooms.”

The White Horse Inn on Church Street is running its own ‘Christmas Market’ at the same time.
Market days are always very busy in Ruddington so residents are encouraged to walk into the village if they can, since parking spaces are rather limited in the centre. With the road closures to accommodate the market, RVCP have arranged additional FREE parking at Vision Express. Its car park is at the Business Park and visitors/drivers will be directed there on the day by market volunteers and the 1st Ruddington Scouts will also help marshal with the parking.
For visitors, there’s an NCT discounted Market Day travel ticket if you come to Ruddington by bus. Village Market organisers say: “We’re super excited to be partnering with Nottingham City Transport to offer 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market Days. All people need to do is scroll down to the NCT Partners category in the Mobile Tickets section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’re good to go!”
The route which Ruddington’s Navy 3 and Green 10 buses will be taking during Saturday December 3rd 2022 is shown below:
This is because the market will mean the closure of High Street – from its junction with Church Street to its junction with Kirk Lane – and of Church Street – from its junction with High Street to its junction with Vicarage Lane – between 0:00hrs and 22:00hrs on Saturday 3rd December 2022. The alternative routes for drivers will be: Westbound – Church Street to Parkyns Street and vice versa. Eastbound – Easthorpe Street to Loughborough Road to Kirk Lane and vice versa, as shown below.
